The Churdan library staff and trustees will host a Community Fun Night Friday, July 30, from 6 to 8 pm.
A meal will be served at the library beginning at 6 pm. The menu includes a choice of hamburger or hotdog, chips, carrots, and a beverage. A free will donation will be accepted.
Children’s activities in the park will include horseback rides, a shooting gallery, a claw machine, tattoos, cookie decorating, snow cones, craft projects, trivia, and much more. The evening is free, but the library will accept donations to help defray costs.
The Town and Country Band, directed by Victoria Chargo, will perform in the park at 8 pm. The concert will include new music prepared for the Rippey sesquicentennial concert on Saturday. Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs.
After the concert, watermelon will be served at the school parking lot. There will be a small fireworks show at dusk. The show is sponsored by T. Cook, Kerry Kinney, Vickie Sutton and Roger Lavole.
The night’s events are sponsored in part by a grant from Communities 4 Children and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children Neighborhood/Community Network mini grants.
